Minimum order $20.00 plus $11.00 minimum packing and shipping. Add $.25 per plant after the first 10 plants and $.10 per leaf, cutting, or rhizome after the first 10. This does not apply to wholesale orders or supplies. See the section of the catalog that deals with these orders. We ship plant material by priority mail only, which we have found to be very satisfactory. Shipping your order by priority mail will normally allow it to be received within three days after it is shipped. The plants will be shipped to you packed in Styrofoam cups. Remove the plants by tearing down the side of the cup. This normally allows the plants to be received in excellent condition.

Shipping charges for potting soil are $10.00 minimum plus $.50 for each gallon over eight. Shipping charges for supplies are $10.00 or 10% of the total cost of the supplies, whichever is greater. If potting soil is ordered with other supplies, the shipping charge is $.50 for each gallon of soil, plus 10% of the total cost of the supplies. Potting soil or supplies cannot be shipped with plant material, therefore, shipping charges for potting soil and supplies must be figured separately.

We are now marketing our own potting mixes for African violets and other gesneriads. They contain no rotted feces, pests, or pathogens of any kind. They are guaranteed pest and disease free. They are also superior for rooting leaves and cuttings. In addition to "Miracle Mix", which we introduced twelve years ago, we are also offering mixes with your choice of two additives. The first allows nearly twice the water retention of our regular mix without saturating the soil. Fill pots 3/4 full when using this mix, as it expands when water is added. The second contains beneficial soil bacteria. These bacteria are completely harmless to humans. They convert urea and ammoniacal nitrogen to the nitrate form of nitrogen, which is the only form the plants can use. This mix must not be sterilized, as this will kill the beneficial bacteria. Each additive is available for an additional $.50/gallon of potting mix and can be added to "Miracle Mix" or to the 1-1-1 Cornell mix (equal parts of peat, perlite, and vermiculite). We believe you will be impressed with the difference in root and plant development. You may think we are exaggerating by calling our mix "Miracle Mix",until you try it.
